Bachert Family | Christmas Tree Farm

Loved spending Friday with the Bachert family. What a great idea to get family pictures done while picking out a Christmas tree:) It was a very mild day with a beautiful sunset, so I couldn’t be more happy with the way they turned out.  Here are just a couple of my favourites that I picked out of so many good ones!

Cameron & Janna {Wedding Day}

Wow……. I can’t even explain the feeling of having all my editing done from all my weddings this year! As of right now, I am completely caught up on all editing. All my christmas family sessions are sent out, christmas cards are all with their rightful owners, wedding packages are sent out. Sigh………..  I can’t even remember what it is like to wake up in the morning with no editing. I do have a family session today, so it won’t last for long, but WAHOOOO!!! It is a great feeling:) I love my job, but I am so ready for the slow season to catch up on so many other parts of my business that sadly get pushed to the side through out the busy season.  2016 is going to be bringing lots of changes to my business and I can’t wait to get started. My goals in 2016 are to be more consistent in all the aspects of my business and  to be MORE ORGANIZED!

Anyway, enough about me! What about Cameron and Janna?

Cameron and Janna are such a sweet couple. So many things about their wedding made me super excited. For having a wedding in November, it was pretty warm outside! But, it was still chilly! And for a bride who is wearing a strapless dress, this can be a problem. I am so thankful for the times we went into the ceremony venue to warm up, because that is where I got the most dreamy photos! If it wasn’t cold, I would have never thought to go in there! Sometimes I forget that window light is the best thing ever!!! This wedding was a great one to end my wedding season! We had a ton of time in between the ceremony and reception, and that gave me some time to play around with double exposure. I’m not very good at it, but that is something that I would love to learn more about.

I hope you enjoy these photos from their sweet little wedding. Happy FRIDAY!!!

Have yourself a merry little Christmas!

With Christmas just around the corner, I am getting pretty excited! I love this time of year. Spending Time with friends and family, having a break from work, eating lots of delicious food – What’s not to love? Last year a couple of friends and I had a christmas party where everyone contributed to the dinner. The rule was that you had to make something that you have never made before. It was fun! Some one brought a salad, soup, homemade bread with a homemade garlic butter (Mmm. I still think about it!), a couple of people brought vegetables, someone did meat, potatoes, and dessert. Let’s just say by the end of the night, we were more than satisfied! I had a blast setting the table and decorating my house for it:)

We all got dressed up, laughed so hard while dancing to the song fancy, drank lots of coffee, and did a stocking exchange. Everyone filled a stocking, and brought it to the party. We all drew a number and that was the stocking you went home with. It was so fun to see what kind of things people thought of to put in the stockings. I look back on this night with fond memories, and I’m excited to make more this christmas! I would love to hear what your favourite thing about christmas is! -Heidi

For favours, I got clear plastic christmas ornament balls and filled them with an herb mixture that I made to be a bread dip if you mixed it in olive oil.

Favorite Things Friday |The Giving Keys

Hey Everyone! I hope everyone is having a great Friday! I know I am:) Tomorrow is my last wedding of 2015, and let’s just say I’m pretty excited to have a little break from the craziness.

Have you heard of The Giving Keys?

It is an awesome business that is based in LA, and its all about giving! When you receive one of these keys, you’re supposed to wear for a while, and then pass it on to someone else. This business employs people that are transitioning out of homelessness. Read the story of how their business began, here.

The Giving Keys have many different options other than bracelets. Aside form the multiple different kind of bracelets that they sell, they also sell necklaces, rings, and earrings. No two pieces of jewelry are the exact same, and each key has sometime written on it.

I received one of these pretty bracelets for my birthday this year. I love how simple and delicate they are,  and what the business is doing.  So I am giving one away!

This pretty little bangle bracelet says the word “FEARLESS” on it. This is the bracelet I am giving away. If you would like to enter to win this bracelet, here is all the info :
